Chinese Wedding Invitation Wording & A Thank You Note

I made the thank you tag above to express my gratitude/thanks to my translator (who is probably sitting staring her PC at her work hub now) :p

The "Thank You Tag" was made with two types of art card/paper and was cut with craft scissors. Photo was taken with Samsung Notes (with photo background edited with Pixlr-o-matic : Hagrid,Barock,Flowery)

So, a big THANK YOU to Ms. Claudia C.H.H. for the help and effort in the completion of my DIY wedding invitation card. This chinese illiterate girl here couldn't have made this without your chinese characters! Don't worry, you will receive the invitation soon~

Embrace Your Pen & Paper

Random fonts I saw and I drew it on a paper. Tadaa! To add more fun, you can 'cut out' the alphabets/words from your photo editor software. Arrange the alphabets to your liking to get something like in the second photo.

It's very easy and I did this using Paint.NET. It's downloadable for free at paint.net

About paint.net
Paint.NET is a free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.  (source: paint.net)

Basically, it's like the basic MS Paint in Windows but with more features and has grown into a powerful photo editor tool. The software is often been compared with Adobe® Photoshop®, Corel® Paint Shop Pro®, Microsoft Photo Editor, and The GIMP.

DIY Wedding Invitation Card

After searching online and offline for weeks for the invitation card suppliers, at last we've decided to go d.i.y. There goes my journey to search for ideas and wedding supplies, wedding stationeries and etc. Thorough research was done to get the theme and to express a unique personalized wedding card, reflecting the  bride's style and not forgetting to stick within a budget. So, here goes my draft using Paint to create colour combination and to see roughly how it'll look like. A modern chinese design with a combination of the word "hei' - double happiness and pink polka dots motif (bride's fav). Colour was chosen based on the day-time ceremony theme colour. (Hint of fuschia, pink or light pink).

-The first sketch-

-Thought of combining lace effect on card-

-"Hei" preparation-

-Randomly punched-out leaves design and got this design,
a plain bright pink ribbon in front of pink polka dot ribbon-

-Trying out with straight border 'pearl red and pearl white colour' with swiss dots ribbon-

-Trimmed border with craft scissor to give a wavy border design-

That's all my draft. Probably will stick to the last one. Simple design but requires time and patience. Well, isn't that what DIY is all about?
